Wine tasting notes
Aromas of lemon blossom, lime and blackcurrant with a touch of guava. Textured and sweet fruited, current, gooseberry, apple and ripe citrus with juicy green notes and a gentle spice. Very long with lingering passionfruit.
Food matching
This wine is a great example of the exuberance and expressiveness of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, a grape that is very new to the country but that has very quickly made internationally sought-after wines. It is a perfect, distinguished aperitif wine, and a party wine that will show your friends how much you love them. Fish and shellfish are a good match, as are salads with tangy dressings. Goats cheese, either on its own or in a salad, is a great combination (though most other cheeses don't go so well). In his Matching Food and Wine: Classic and Not So Classic Combinations, Michel Roux suggests a cold tomato and orange soup.
