Wine tasting notes

An Intense, delicious aroma, with red fruit, toasted bread and touches of flowers. Medium bodied on the palate, good acidity, and fruit that is fresh and reminiscent of strawberries and raspberries. A lovely, long finish.

Winery Information

Bernabeleva

Bodega Bernabeleva is an up-and-coming, tiny, new winery located on the far western edge of the Viños de Madrid DO, within the San Martín sub-zone. The estate resides in the small village of Pelayos de la Presa, next to San Martín de Valdeiglesias, a historic town after which the sub-appellation takes its name. The producers in this small zone are careful to include "San Martin de Valdeiglesias" on their labels, to indicate and differentiate the higher level of quality found here.A quick.. read more

Nov Dec 2010 - jay Miller - Vivid ruby. Red and dark berry preserves on the nose, with complicating notes of licorice and mocha. Lively raspberry and blackberry flavors stain the palate and show very good precision, complemented by an exotic floral quality that gains power with air. This suave wine finishes with strong cut and sweet persistence.

Wine Advocate #195 Jun 2011 - Jay Miller - The 2008 Navaherreros Tinto, also 100% Garnacha, was aged in seasoned oak barrels. It displays greater aromatic complexity in its display of cigar box, Asian spices, incense, and black cherry. The wine has excellent volume, precision balance, lively acidity, and a pure, silky finish. It is an outstanding value meant for drinking over the next 5-6 years.

Vinification Notes
