Wine tasting notes
The Clos Henri Sauvignon Blanc has a typical ripe Marlborough Sauvignon blanc nose of gooseberry and passionfruit. Fresh citrus aromas are present throughout the long palate that begins with intensity and hints at minerality as it lingers for a long mouth-filling Sancerre-like finish. This wine will open in the glass and is best with food. Expected to age well for at least 5 years.

Vinification Notes
Careful attention was paid to keep an open canopy but provide enough leaf cover to prevent sunburn throughout the season. Long cool nights and warm dry days allowed optimum conditions for us to draw out the tail-end of ripening. Harvest occurred at the end of April. Vines achieved ideal crop to leaf ratio for their young age and aromas of citrus blossoms and lychees were present at berry sampling just prior to harvest. Wines were fermented in stainless steel tanks until dry and kept on fine lees for over 10 months. Being one of the last- if not the last Marlborough Sauvignon producers to bottle, this patience allowed the wine to gain roundness and length.
