Product Notes

CVNE Contino Reserva is a magnificent example of a robust, complex Rioja wine. A blend of diverse indigenous grapes, it graces the palate with layers of dark berries, tantalising spices, and a subtle hint of oak. Its richness doesn't overshadow its remarkable freshness and silky tannins. Each glass reveals the expertise and care undertaken in the winemaking process. Aged impeccably in French and American oak barrels, it carries an impressive, lingering finish. This wine is perfect for savouring alongside a sumptuous feast or simply enjoying on its own. Contino Reserva is a wine aficionado's delight.

Tasting Notes

Deep red garnet. Aromas of dark berries, spice and a hint of smoke follow through to a full body and velvety tannins. Well balanced, fine, very fresh, juicy.

About the Winery

C.V.N.E

C.V.N.E, Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España, is a family-owned winery situated in the Rioja Alavesa region of Spain. This historic winery, renowned in Spain and globally, is an enduring legacy of the Real de Asúa family. Founded in 1879 by Eusebio and Raimundo Real de Asúa, the C.V.N.E winery has, for over a century, produced wines that have captivated the palates of even the most discerning wine enthusiasts.

The winery is composed of four individual wineries: Cune, Imperial, Viña Real, and Contino, each with its unique story and distinct method of wine production. Cune is the initial and the most recognised, with its workings based in Haro. Imperial, on the other hand, pays homage to the flagship wine produced at the turn of the 20th century. Viña Real, nestled on the Cerro de la Mesa, is renowned for its individualised, single vineyard wines. Contino, the last of the four wineries, specialises in Reserva and Gran Reserva, showcasing the potential of its single vineyards.

The wineries maintain a perfect symbiosis of tradition and modernity- from the exceptional and innovative winemaking facilities to their adoption of traditional wine-making processes. Apart from wine production, C.V.N.E is also famed for its distinctive and avant-garde architectural designs. The Viña Real facility, an impressive barrel designed by Bordeaux-based architect Philippe Mazières, stands as a testament to the winery's enduring love for quality and detail.

With a rich historical presence and a portfolio spanning a diverse range, C.V.N.E has affirmed a position of prestige in global viniculture. Whether you are a novice or an aficionado, C.V.N.E offers an immersive wine experience like no other. Showcasing some of the finest grapes in the Rioja region it’s sumptuous array ensures a delightful exploration into the world of Spanish wines.
