Riesling and Xarel Lo are both highly distinctive grapes. Riesling, of course, originating from Germany and producing a vast range of styles that all share unmistakable traits. Xarel-Lo is native to Cataluña in Spain and is one of the primary Cava grapes; used for this purpose it will donate a clearly recognisable character. The blending of these grapes may be considered a somewhat unusual idea. For the adventurous growers doing just this, the magnificent results have made the seemingly risky decision very worthwhile.
