Vidal  is a grape variety that is a hybrid of Ugni Blanc,  normally known as Vidal Blanc or Vidal 256. It is highly cold weather tolerant and is therefore grown extensively in Canada. Its most successful venture is in  the production of icewine, which it is ideal due to its thick skins and slow ripening tendencies.
