Red grape variety of Valpolicella and Bardolino in the North East of Italy. It is sometimes known as Corvina Veronese or Cruina. Corvina is sometimes blended with other grapes such as Rondinella, Molinara to make the regional wines - Bardolino and Valpolicella. Corvina is the most celebrated ingredient of the magical Amarone wine, produced using a grape drying technique which achieves sublime concentration of flavours and aromas, a current trend is the use of barrel ageing for these wines.
