White grape variety often known as Grechetto Bianco, mostly associated with Umbrias Orvieto region and the DOCs of Torgiano and Colli Martani. The Antinori family have helped fuel the promotion of this variety through blending it with Chardonnay to make their highly celebrated wine 'Cervaro'. Grechetto is blessed with a thick skin making it downy-mildew resistant. It is suitable as a blending component for the production of Vin Santo, the legendary dessert wine. It is known commonly as Greco Spoletino or Greco Bianco di Perugia.
