Black grape variety, from Italy-specifically the islands of Ischia and Capri in the region of Campania. It is also known as Per'e Palummo and Palombina. The translation of 'piedirosso' is 'red feet', because the bottom of the vine is said to be reminiscent of the red feet of a pigeon.It is sometimes used as a blending wine in the Naples area with Olivella and Aglianico, the resulting wine is known as Lachryma Christi del Vesuvio.
