Tocai Friulano

White grape variety also known as Tocai Friulano (which is the Friulan name for it), an extremely popular grape predominantly found in the region of Friuli; specifically the areas of Colli Orientali, Grave del Friuli and Collio. The EU authorities banned the use of the name 'Tocai' in 2007 because it was thought to be too similar to 'Tokaji' the distinguished Hungarian wine, despite the styles being hugely different. Tocai makes a light, citrusy white wine with almond notes.
