Robert Parker: Wine Advocate # 188. Apr 2010. Reviewer : Robert Parker. Not much wine is made from Mr. Lusseau-s five-acre vineyard. He is also the regisseur of all Gerard Perse's properties, so there is no doubt he knows how to turn out exceptionally concentrated, rich, flavorful, and soulful wines. Here the alcohol hit 13.9%, and the blend is mostly Merlot (80%) and the rest Cabernet Franc. An opulent, in-your-face style of St.-Emilion, with a dense ruby/purple color, chewy, meaty flavors, and plenty of floral notes intermixed with blackberry, licorice, smoke, and fruit, this totally seamless, opulent, fleshy wine is a total hedonistic turn-on that should drink well for 10-15 years. (Tasted two times.) Drink: 2010 - 2025.Jancis Robinson: Published : 08-Apr-2010. Estate belongs to Pavie’s technical drector. Not quite as concentrated looking as Clos Les Lunelles. A little raw and very thick and sweet. Just a bit too sweet and soupy for me. Dense and concentrated. Tarry, dry end. When to drink : 2016 to 2030.Wine Spectator: Updated: April 15, 2010. Sweet berry and floral aromas follow through to a medium body, with fine tannins and a fresh finish. —J.S.Decanter: James Lawther MW, Decanter.com, 16 pts - "Ripe, round and harmonious. Well handled tannins. Modern but measured. Drink 2014-2022."Chris Kissack, thewinedoctor.com, 14.5-15.5/20pts - "A grand cru estate tasted at Pavie, and owned by Perse's régisseur if I understand correctly, this is 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. Broad fruit on the nose here, with a macerated cherry quality, and a firm alcoholic kick. Lots of bold texture on the palate too, a firm shell of alcohol showing quite plainly. Also some good fruit though, very stony-cherry in style, but with some heat in the back. "Neal Martin, erobertparker.com, 84-86pts - "Tasted at Chateau Pavie. Dense black, oaky fruit on the nose with blackberry, blueberry, orange peel and wild strawberry. The palate is full-bodied, furry tannins, huge weight and concentration, very smooth and very grippy on the masculine, smoky finish. Introverted on the Rhone-like finish. Tasted March 2010."Vinification: Vinified in stainless steel, then aged in oak.
