Description: Intense ruby red. Red berries, mulberrry, sour cheery, vanilla, coffee powder, eucaliptus leaves and tobacco. Rich intense, velvety tannins. Sweet and persistent tannin. Robert Parker: Wine Advocate # 154. Aug 2004. Reviewer : Daniel Thomases. The 2001 Cygnus, Nero d'Avola and Cabernet Sauvignon, is characterful with its notes of sweet herbs, tar, and graphite in addition to its black cherry and cassis fruit, and the style is rather elegant and polished, with balanced alcohol and acidity. Drink: 2004-2010. Wine Spectator: Issue: Jul 31, 2008. This offers subtle yet complex aromas of currant and blackberry, with sour cherry. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a medium finish. Drink now. 5,600 cases made. –JS. Stephen Tanzer: Jul/Aug 08. By Ian D'Agata. (a blend of nero d'Avola and cabernet sauvignon) Medium-deep red. Fresh and refined if ultimately uncomplicated aromas of blackcurrant, black pepper and graphite. Fresh and juicy in the mouth, with floral and tobacco hints adding some complexity to the blackcurrant flavors. Finishes smooth and nicely balanced, with decent persistence.
