Description: Apricots, nectarines and lemons with hints of gooseberry. Full-bodied, rich, and dense on the palate. Long, fruity finish. Robert Parker: Wine Advocate # 179. Oct 2008. Reviewer : Antonio Galloni. The 2006 Sauvignon Piere exhibits grassy notes, along with suggestions of mint, minerals, crushed rocks and white peaches. This medium-bodied Sauvignon offers outstanding length and tons of balance. The Sauvignon Piere was aged in steel. A recent bottle of the 1996 was still in fine shape, although admittedly I prefer these wines on the younger side. Drink: 2008 - 2012. Jancis Robinson: Published : 17-Aug-2009. Grass, lemon juice. Interesting palate - creamy and smooth, with a refined citrus tang and very lengthy finish which more than makes up for the slightly light nose. Good.(RH). When to drink : 2009 to 2011. Wine Spectator: Issue: Mar 31, 2008. Has pretty banana, apple and lemon character, with a hint of cream. Full-bodied, with very lively acidity and a long aftertaste of mineral, apple and lemon rind. Drink now. 3,900 cases made. –JS. Vinification: Cold maceration. Alcoholic fermentation in steel for 20-30 days. Malo-lactic fermentation. Maturing for 7 months on the lees. Finishing in the bottle for 10 months.
