Description: With this harvest, it was finally possible for the Sangiovese to express its maximum potential. Of an intense ruby colour with garnet tinges, it has a good aromatic complex bouquet. Chocolate/coffee and spices palate, it possesses an elegant tannin content and a lingering finish. Robert Parker: Wine Advocate # 184. Aug 2009. Reviewer : Antonio Galloni. The 2006 Chianti Classico Brolio is a rich, weighty Chianti packed with dark fruit. The wine possesses good depth and volume in a ripe, fruit-driven style that is likely to provide its greatest drinking pleasure over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012. Wine Spectator: Issue: Oct 31, 2009 - Top 100 2009: Rank 5 - Shows amazing aromas of blackberry, with hints of vanilla and flowers, along with black licorice and crushed berries. Full-bodied, with wonderfully caressing, ultrafine tannins. Very balanced and long. Best after 2011. 6,170 cases made. –JS

Wine Enthusiast 92pts ( 2004) - " Barone Ricasoli delivers a top-class Chianti Classico that is penetrating, proud and modern at the same time. The wine is creamy and dense in the mouth with satisfying flavors of blackberry, cured meat and exotic spice. Very nice. — M.L. (5/1/2009) Vinification: 18 months in two-thirds new barriques.
