Product Notes

Selvapiana Chianti Rufina wine, produced in the famed Tuscan region of Italy, is a blend dominated by Sangiovese, infused with Canaiolo, Colorino and Malvasia Nera. Aged for 12 months in French oak, it boasts a vibrant ruby colour and presents inviting, savoury-spice aromas. On the palate, it captures an impeccably balanced fusion of juicy cherry and ripe raspberry flavours, underpinned by gentle tannins and a hint of earthy rusticity. This elegant, medium-bodied wine is a captivating illustration of Chianti Rufina's exceptional, characteristic flavour profile. Consistently praised for its superior quality and unbeatable value, it’s the perfect partner for traditional Italian fare.

Tasting Notes

Vibrant ruby red in colour, this wine has aromas of ripe blackberry and red cherry, with a hint of spice. The palate is ripe and juicy but still elegant and true to Selvapiana’s classic style, with a tight structure and lifted, floral finish that is balanced perfectly by refreshing acidity.

About the Winery

Selvapiana

Nestled in the breathtaking Tuscan hills, the historical Selvapiana winery paints a perfect picture of Italian viticulture. Originally built as a summer residence for the Florentine bishops, it later fell into the hands of the Giuntini family who have nurtured it's growth for five generations. Today, it is revered as one of Italy's most prized treasures.

Here, the Selvapiana team carry out their wine-making magic, employing a striking blend of traditional and modern techniques that places both expertise and passion at the forefront of their work.

While Selvapiana predominantly produces Chianti Rufina, considered among the most elegant of Tuscan wines, it also boasts a commendable range of other wines, including their opulent and famed Vigneto Bucerchiale; a wine that fully expresses the estate's unique terroir. These beautiful creations owe their distinct taste to the estate's unique microclimate and calcareous clay soil.
