Prosecco

Prosecco is the name of the grape that is normally used for the production of sparkling wine classified as DOC Prosecco from the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions of Italy. Predominantly in the areas near Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, in the hills north of Treviso. The wine is produced using the Charmat method, whereby the secondary fermentation takes place within a stainless-steel tank.
Prosecco is typically lower in alcohol, between 11-12 % ABV, and has delightful floral aromas accompanied by pear, white peach and apricot. This wine is intended to be drunk young, unlike Champagne which will develop complex secondary aromas and flavours over time.
