Accordini

ACCORDINI
Stefano Accordini's story began at the turn of the 20th century when his father Gaetano Accordini was producing wine as a share cropper. In the 1970's share cropping was abolished, and Stefano fulfilled a dream by purchasing his first vineyard “Il Fornetto” in the Valley of Negrar, and building a winery. Until 1982 he produced Valpolicella wine for the local market, but then his sons Tiziano and Daniele recognised the potential of the business and planted more vineyards, replaced old barrels and modernised the production methods. They were now ready to expand into foreign markets. The new millennium saw them move their business into the heart of the Valpolicella Classico region, which provided the opportunity to produce better quality wines, initially buying 10 hectares in Cavolo, in the Valley of Fumane at 550 metres above sea level. The new winery was completed in 2011 and it is the highest winery in the Valpolicella Classico region, where they presently have 25 hectares under vine. Stefano Accordini continues to be family run, now fourth generation, and produces wine with a unique taste and bouquet, that is characteristic of the soils and climate of “the mountain” on which the grapes are grown and vinified; wines made with the history, the traditions and the passion of Valpolicella!
