Wine tasting notes

Pale gold in colour with a lovely youthful glint, its mousse is superb and displays very fine and distinguished necklaces of bubbles. The nose is intense and expressive with notes of ripe citrus fruits, honey, dried fruit, and a very subtle touch of toast. The palate is extremely generous, structured and perfectly balanced despite the wine’s relative youth, leading to a long, fresh and very pleasant finish. A very light and elegant cuvee which beautifully associates intense character and delicacy.

Tasted Mar 2015 - Disgorged June 2014. Fresh and mildly floral. Racy and transparent with an attractive chalkiness on the (bone dry) finish. Relatively delicate.

Sept 2016 - Rich and ripe flavors of glazed apricot and spiced plum are layered with pastry dough, graphite and spice notes in this balanced version, with a lively bead. Accessible, presenting juicy acidity through to the clean-cut finish.

A racy edition courtesy of the 2008 vintage, this has plenty of lemon curd mingled with super-pure grapefruit notes. The palate has chalky, pastry-like savory elements that herald an acid-driven palate structure, and this delivers plenty of ripe-lemon-citrus flavor; it's really focused and fresh. Drinks well now, but will deliver nicely over the next 5+ years.

This Blanc de Blancs has shed its initial minerality and gained rich fruitiness. Apricots as well as more citrus flavors abound, bringing out a full and round character. From Grand Cru vineyards on the Côte des Blancs, this is ready to drink. R.V. (12/1/2014)
