Luigi Bosca

The Bodega was founded in 1901 by Don Leoncio Arizu, and continues to be run by his descendants today, now fourth generation and run by the founder's great grandson Alberto Arizu Jr, making it Argentina's oldest family-owned winery. The estate is situated in Mendoza and comprises vineyards in three of the most outstanding regions of Mendoza, Luján de Cuyo, Maipú and Valle De Uco, all at an elevated level. At Luigi Bosca they hand-pick all their grapes, and apply biodynamic principles. The variety of soils altitudes and microclimates from the diverse vineyard sites make for an impressive range of wines. Their jewel in the crown is their Malbec Single Vineyard DOC Luján de Cuyo which comes from 80 year old vines. Luján de Cuyo was the first appellation in Mendoza, and in 1989 Luigi Bosca played a key role in its creation - this was the first wine to be certified under the new DOC. Luigi Bosca are one of Argentina's leading estates, producing wines that deliver an authentic expression of the uniqueness of the Mendoza terroir.
