Wine Advocate # 164. Apr 2006. Reviewer : Robert Parker. A masculine offering, the 2003 reveals plenty of sweet, smoke and licorice-infused black fruits as well as a solid, robust personality displaying high tannin, low acidity, and meaty, herbal, and black currant notes. Drink 2007 - 2018. Wine Advocate # 158. Apr 2005. Reviewer : Robert Parker. Notes of lead pencil shavings, damp earth, truffle, incense, and black currants are present in this medium-bodied, attractively made wine with low acidity, ripe tannin, and excellent fruit. Drink 2005 - 2016.

May/Jun 06. By Stephen Tanzer. Fresh red. Cooler aromas of raspberry and flowers. A sweet, fruit-driven Margaux in a rather modern style. The red fruit flavors are joined by oak spice on the finish, which features dusty, somewhat dry-edged tannins.

Published : 07-Nov-2005. Dark crimson. Not ‘big’. Sweet and fragrant, then an extraordinary (for this vintage) level of acidity. Almost impossible to pick this as a 2003. No obvious heat at all. Mild, very chewy finish, but correct (as an expression of Margaux, rather than of 2003). When to Drink : 2009 to 2018.

Issue: Mar 31, 2006. Chewy and structured with plum, berry, cherry and cooked fruit character. Full-bodied and tannic, with a long finish. Give it time. Best after 2008. 6,665 cases made. ?JS.
