Wine tasting notes

APPEARANCE Red, very good depth NOSE Dark Chocolate, ripe plums and blackcurrant - hints of tobacco and earth with soft leather PALATE Blackcurrant and dark chocolate reminiscent of rich chocolate cake. A plush mouthfeel with new oak ripe fruit tannins. The palate finishes with 85% dark chocolate sensations and flavours.

Expert reviews

Wine Advocate/Robert Parker (2010) - 92 pts

Deep garnet colored, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Shadrach has an enticing nose of blackcurrant cordial, menthol and cloves with hints of pencil shavings and beef drippings. Medium-bodied and densely packed with muscular fruit, it shows a solid frame of approachable, grainy tannins and refreshing acidity before finishing long and elegant.

James Halliday (2010) - 95 pts

Dense colour; it's a full-bodied version of a full-bodied Shadrach; it's not hard to guess why it hasn't been previously released, and even now it's barely ready. But its blackcurrant fruit is varietal, the tannins are balanced, and the oak is integrated.
