Wine tasting notes

Golden-yellow robe with captivating aromas of stone fruits. Pineapple and brioche flavours amuse the rounded full-bodied palate, with hints of vanilla and nuts on the lingering rich finish. This is an exceptional Mâconnais Chardonnay from an exceptional producer.

Expert reviews

JancisRobinson.com (2015) - 16 pts

25 year-old vines are machine-picked. Pale gold. Quite a bit of energy here and very open fruit with a hint of smoke. Lots of fun and easy appeal (and of course the usual wondrfully smart packaging). It's only slightly sweet with a little bit of alcohol and heat on the end. Fresher and more vital than some recent whites from Louis Latour. Pretty expensive but reliable, and presumably exported all over the world.

Wine Spectator (2015) - 88 pts

There is fine intensity here, with apple and peach flavors shaded by vanilla hints. Round and almost viscous in texture, ending with spice accents. Drink now through 2020.

James Suckling (2013) - 90 pts

This tight and very pretty with aromas of honeysuckle and dried apple. Medium to full-bodied, minerally and bright. I like it. Drink now.

Wine Enthusiast (2014) - 87 pts

TThis fresh and fruity wine is made with without wood. Citrus crisp and with lively acidity, it refreshing, and perfumed. Drink now.

Burghound (2004) - 85 to 87 pts

Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 85-87 pts(2004)  - "An exceptionally fresh and expressive nose redolent of floral and slightly spicy aromas that introduce round, sweet, forward and acceptably rich flavors that tighten up on the mineral-infused finish. There isn't great complexity here but the freshness is appealing.
