Product Notes

The Boekenhoutskloof Franschhoek Cabernet Sauvignon is a distinguished South African wine, well-regarded for its robust complexity. Crafted in the breathtaking Franschhoek Valley, this wine exhibits a sumptuous palate of blackcurrants, ripe plums, and cedar wood. Subtle notes of tobacco and dark chocolate round off the finish, showing great concentration yet maintaining a fine balance. Aromatic and expressive, this Cabernet Sauvignon captivates with both its depth and elegance. Matured in French oak, it exudes exquisite refinement. This capable wine is a delightful companion to hearty stews or succulent steaks, a true testament to the winemaking prowess of Boekenhoutskloof.

Tasting Notes

The nose is subtle, yet perfumey with its complex bouquet of red currant, dark cherries and blueberry and enticing whiffs of bergamot and cedar. Red and dark berry fruit follows through onto a medium-bodied palate with flavours of fresh fig and nutmeg. The mid-palate is focused, silky and poised with a charcoal-edged texture and very fine-grained tannins, with perfect acidity to balance. The wine lingers with hints of clove, crushed gravel and cocoa powder on a mineral-tinged, pure finish.
