Product Notes

Boekenhoutskloof Syrah is a remarkably lush South African wine, exuding dark fruit fragrances and a hint of spice, indicative of its Syrah grapes origins. Its intense, complex palette reveals bursts of blackberry, white pepper and violet undertones, supported by a strong tannin structure, adding depth and character. Matured in French oak barrels, its velvety finish leaves a lasting impression. Bestowed with numerous awards, this wine is testament to Boekenhoutskloof’s commitment to exquisite winemaking. Ideal companion to a hearty steak meal, this Syrah is suited for bold flavour enthusiasts seeking a superior vinous experience.

Tasting Notes

The nose shows mulberry, dark plums, blackberry and intense whiffs of liquorice and violets. The entry is savoury and earthy with the dark berry fruit of the nose following through with notes of black cardamom, sweet tobacco and cloves. The mid-palate is full-bodied, yet elegant and lithe, with grainy tannins providing good structure and integrated acidity creating exceptional balance. Flavours of cured meat, white pepper and black olives lend classic complexity. Hints of tar, aniseed and espresso linger on a fine, silky finish.
