Product Notes

A succulent amalgamation of deep hues and complex flavours, the Craggy Range Gimblett Gravels Te Kahu is a red wine of distinction from New Zealand. The wine beautifully showcases notes of ripe berries, plum, and subtle undertones of dark chocolate, followed by a hint of vanilla. Delicately nestled on the palate with a mellow yet lasting finish, this red wine proudly exhibits richness perfectly interlaced with impeccably balanced nuances of elegant tannins. With Te Kahu, one gets the superbly blended taste of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec. This wine is indeed a splendid pour for wine connoisseurs.

Tasting Notes

Deepest crimson red. Brooding aromatically with notes of cassis, black olive, dried tobacco and the faintest hint of roasted hazelnut. The palate is alive with rich, ripe red to black fruit, with a mid-palate that speaks volumes to the warm and long ripening period. A perfect example of medium-bodied Bordeaux style blends from the Gimblett Gravels.

About the Winery

Craggy Range

Nestled amongst the stunning Kiwi landscapes, Craggy Range winery offers a unique wine experience. This celebrated winery is situated in the shadows of the craggy peak of Te Mata in Hawke's Bay. Earthern texts or "cradle" is the essence of the Maori phrase "Te Mata o Aoi". Aucklanders, not uncommonly, cite Craggy Range's Pinot Gris as a standout, with its subtly sweet and perfectly balanced flavour profile.

Not only does the winery boast a vistacular view of the mountain range but, the area is also home to Craggy Range's premier restaurant, Terroir. Here the cuisine is every bit as spectacular as the viniculture; combining fresh local ingredients to serve a gourmet dining experience that you won't forget.

Elegant accommodation in the form of spacious cottages are available to those wishing for an added dash of luxury during their stay, conveniently located on the edge of the vineyard.
