A selection of the best fruit from six different vineyards with a high proportion of granitic soils complemented with clay and iron. Wonderful purity and laser-line golden fruit on the nose, restrained yet haunting, delivering great pleasure from the outset but with the crisp acid backbone to ensure at least five years ageing potentia

Pale, bright yellow. More precise on the nose than the Paardebosch Chenin, offering aromas of lemon zest, white pear, quince, honey and soft spices. The honey and spice notes carry through onto a rich, deep palate. Finishes fairly phenolic but here there's more buffering material and salinity, giving the wine a more harmonious quality. March 2018 - Loire-like. Waxy and frangipani floral. Rich with an edge of brûlée. Slightly saline. It feels very mute, and I wonder if this wine is yet to wake up. (TC)

Even the “basic” Chenin Blanc from the Sadies comes from 35-49-year-old vines, sourced from a total of six vineyards on granite, shale, iron and clay soils. Light, refreshing and bone dry, it’s an impressive, unirrigated Chenin with pear tart and citrus flavours and bracing acidity. 2018-23

Vinification Notes

Fermented with 50% whole bunches lifting aroma and delivering freshness. Sourced from three vineyards with two distinct soil types: one that is deep and rich in iron and two located at high elevation on granite soils.
