Wine tasting notes

Green apple, apricot, peach, hints of honey and floral aromas characterize a fresh and upfront nose. The palate is rich and well integrated with a lingering aftertaste.

Apr 17 - Neal Martin - The 2016 Dmz Chenin Blanc was picked a little earlier to retain the acidity in a warm growing season. It has a straightforward green apple, fresh lemon and fresh pear scented bouquet. The palate is well balanced with light grassy tones on the entry, the acidity nicely judged, though just needing a little more detail to come through on the finish. Drink this over the next 3-4 years.

Light and fresh on the nose with real vibrancy on the palate. Some very slightly smoky reductive element too but recognisably Chenin with its suggestion of honey (though it finishes bone dry).

Friendly and direct, with a breezy edge to the lime, green apple and pear fruit flavors that stay unadorned through the finish. Drink now. Tasted twice, with consistent notes

Pale greenish-yellow. Pungent aromas of grapefruit pith, capsicum, fresh herbs and anise. Dense, peppery and broad, showing captivating spicy, herbal lift to the grapefruit and soft citrus flavors. A very savory Sauvignon Blanc with concentration and a smooth texture. Finishes ripe but dry, with very good length.

Rush of tropical fruit & hint of sweat on youthful 2012. Well-weighted mouthfeel, forming grip from tiny oaked portion to balance overall fresh & lively profile. 2011 untasted.

Vinification Notes

Pre cooled fruit is lightly pressed whole bunch. The free run, medium press and hard press fractions are kept separate, naturally settled overnight and fermented with selected yeasts in a combination of stainless steel tank and old French oak barrels. The final blend is made up after 4-6 months of ageing on the lees then lightly filtered and stabilized for bottling.
