Domaine Brusset

The domaine was founded in 1947 by André Brusset in Cairanne amongst the vineyards of the Southern Rhône. Today it remains family owned, run by André 's son Daniel and grandson Laurent. At Brusset respect for tradition is incorporated with modern technologies. They are environmentally conscious, and have Level 3 High Value Environmental Certification from the French Ministry of Agriculture, and take a low-intervention approach in the cellar. 70 hectares are under vine in five prestigious appellations, Gigondas [where some of the most spectacular terraced vineyards on the Dentelles de Montmirail mountain range are located], Cairanne, Rasteau, Côte du Rhône and Ventoux. Here the typical Southern Rhône grape varieties are grown; the white Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Clairette, and the red Grenache Noir, Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault and Carignan. Red wines are their speciality with 90% of the production, and the diversity of terroirs and grape varieties affords a comprehensive range of wines of remarkable quality, with skilful use of new oak to be produced. These wines are elegant, expressing a wonderful concentration of fruit and fine spice, with a savoury garrigue edge.
