Product Notes

Laurence and Rémi Dufaitre's Domaine de Botheland Brouilly wine is a French marvel with a distinct character. Grown in the Beaujolais region, it radiates an exquisite balance of vivacity and depth. This seamlessly balanced red wine is celebrated for its floral notes and layers of red fruit, rounded off with a hint of spice. It has earthy undertones and a subtle minerality which savours a pleasant and lasting finish. Made with an organic and natural approach to viticulture, this Brouilly boasts a delightful purity, making it undeniably charming for any wine enthusiast.

Tasting Notes

Bursting with flowers and delicate cherry notes this masterfully combines a supple roundness with beautiful freshness and tension. While this is a little more muscular than some of Remi’s other wines, it demonstrates a rare finesse not often demonstrated by Brouilly

About the Winery

Laurence & Rémi Dufaitre

Tucked away in the heart of Beaujolais, France, Laurence and Rémi Dufaitre are owners and vignerons of an exquisite, biodynamically farmed winery. Launched in the early 2000s, their venture has since made significant waves in the French wine scene. Drawing on Rémi's rich experience in viticulture and equipped with Laurence's unmatched marketing acumen, they've persistently sought to redefine Beaujolais' wine landscape.

Nestled amongst rolling hills and stunning vistas, the couple's approximately 12 hectares of vineyards sprawl across the villages of Saint-Etienne-la-Varenne and Saint-Jean-des-Vignes. Here, they work predominantly with the Gamay grape to produce a captivating range of authentic, expressive red wines. The winery shines a spotlight on the diversity of the Beaujolais region's terroirs, respecting the natural integrity of their old vines by shunning artificial treatments. This commitment to biodynamics imbues every bottle with remarkable freshness, finesse and the unique mineral undertones indicative of their soils.

Instead of using artificial yeasts, Laurence & Rémi rely on natural fermentation. Their winemaking technique is minimalistic; they refrain from fining, filtration or making any additions, including sulphur. This uncluttered approach has rewarded us with wines that offer the perfect interplay between fruit, earth and the characteristic Beaujolais minerality.

Their innovative philosophy extends to aesthetics as well, as their wines’ presentation is as refreshing as their contents, with eye-catching geometric labels that mirror the precision and elegance of the wines within.

In conclusion, Laurence & Rémi Dufaitre Winery is many things, an emblem of inspiration for budding winemakers, a testament to the longevity and flexibility of organic farming and, above all, a sanctuary for wine enthusiasts who commend an authentic, pure expression of the Beaujolais wine...all bottled with love, and passion.
