Wine tasting notes

Bright ruby. Fresh red berries and peppery spices on the fragrant nose and in the mouth. Picks up a touch of bitterness with air, which adds a refreshing bite. Juicy and light on its feet, finishing with good clarity and silky tannins

Winery Information

Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe

D. du Vieux T?l?graphe does indeed derive its name from an old telegraph station, one which was once sited on the hill where this Ch.neuf D. now stands. The station was one of Claude Chappe's optical telegraph relay towers, erected in 1792, part of a system of such stations spanning the whole of France which utilised a semaphore system to relay information..

Oct 2016 - Jeb Dunnock - With more richness and mid-palate depth, the 2015 Ventoux Megaphone has the same minerality and saltiness that’s present in the Pigeoulet, as well as plenty of black cherry, white pepper and spice. Drink it anytime over the coming 4-5 years.

June 2016 - Youthful purple. Fresh red and dark berry scents are complemented by suggestions of lavender and allspice. Juicy black raspberry and licorice pastille flavors show a hint of smokiness, and a peppery note adds lift and cut. Closes gently sweet with sneaky tannins and very good, floral persistence. -- Josh Raynolds

This has a very gentle, silky feel, with pretty violet, bergamot and lavender notes guiding a pretty bitter cherry coulis core along. There's a flash of shiso leaf through the finish, which is sneaky long. Grenache and Syrah. Drink now through 2018
