Wine tasting notes

This wine is all rich, tasty plums that dominate both the nose and palate. A great example of a modern and fruit forward style Merlot that makes the most of this variety’s supple tannins and generous fruit flavours. Ridiculously easy to drink

Domaine Montrose

The estate is named after its location with vines planted on the sides of two volcanoes – Montrose and Montredon, and also for the rose coloured blossom of the almond trees bordering the property. The Domaine is run by father and son Bernard and Oliver Coste, and the family have been winemakers for more than 300 years. Published : 14-Jul-2011. Rather raw fruit. Lots of chew. There is at least some lively fruit here. But some fairly rasping tannins too. When to drink : Now to 2015.
