Wine tasting notes

Solid and stylish, the Château des Vierres overlooks the Ardières Valley and is situated on one of the best Lantignié slopes. The vines are cultivated with great care by Jean-Marc Branch and his wife, and the vinified wines are entrusted to the cooperative cellar in Quincié. The cellar master, Jean Luc Chagny, applies his full attention and expertise to the development of the wines of Château des Vierres, producing a product that is complete, racy, and full of elegance. This wine has a beautiful, deep ruby color. It is silky, full, and velvety. The palate is very pleasant, with fruit notes. A wine of great distinction, it leaves a harmonious fl avor in the mouth.

The 2016 Beaujolais Villages Chateau des Vierres has a lovely red cherry and crushed strawberry-scented bouquet that leaps from the glass. The palate is sweet and candied on the entry with plush red berries tinged with orange zest. It just misses a little tension on the finish but otherwise this is a fine contribution to the vintage. Mid bluish crimson. Dusty dark-red fruit. Fine, fresh and already rather silky. Slides across the palate and finishes fresh. (JH)

Lots of juicy fruit and sliced-strawberry, cherry and lemon undertones. Medium-bodied, juicy and slightly jammy. Drink now.
