Wine tasting notes
The name La Madone evokes not only a sanctuary visible from afar, but also a climat within the Cru Fleurie. Climat is a Burgundian word describing a parcel of vineyards that have outstanding quality and merit. Though there are not many of these climats in the Beaujolais appellations, each one is carefully tended with honor and pride. In 1870 the winemakers of Fleurie promised the Virgin that if their village was not conquered by the Prussians, they would build a shrine in her honor. The Prussians never reached the village, and the winegrowers kept their promise, hence the name of this estate. This wine has a beautiful, red color, wreathed in purple highlights. The nose develops peach and peony aromas. Floral and very fruity, this is a very feminine wine, ample and noble.
