Wine tasting notes

Aromas of quince and white figs with hints of yellow peach and mineral notes finishing with subtle oak spices. The palate follows suit with flavours of peach and hints of preserved lemon, the acidity is long and fine and wrapped in a soft texture.

Expert reviews

JancisRobinson.com (2015) - 17.5 pts

Dec 2015 - Lime and honeysuckle, rich and almost oily and spicy in texture. Full in the mouth yet still so fresh. Mouth-watering finish and great length. (JH)

James Halliday (2015) - 94 pts

From Frankland River, hand-picked and sorted, wild-fermented with no significant additions during fermentation and/or prior to early bottling. Other than Bremerton's '14 Fiano, it has far more weight and richness to its palate than any other fiano so far made in Australia, with nashi pear, apple skin and citrus. Backed up by zesty acidity.

Wine Front (2016) - 91 pts

Cherubino’s Fiano has proven to consistently be one to look out for. It has a saline edge. It’s most definitely a positive. It shows red grapefruit, citrus juice and rind characters but that saline note adds a distinct kind of cut, and almost seems to help drive the flavours through the palate. Good gear.
