Wine tasting notes

An ethereal pale pink colour with silver reflections, this wine has the allure of a pure summer breeze. A complex rosé, with a pronounced mineral structure it’s characterised by elegant notes of wild strawberry, citrus, white flowers and a hint of lychee. Mirabeau Pure is refreshing and refined with a lingering, beautiful finish that will prolong the aromatic pleasures. The perfect bottle for any occasion that calls for something a little special or as a gastronomic partner to good food.

Expert reviews

Wine Advocate/Robert Parker (2017) - 90 pts

The mid-level rosé offering from Mirabeau, the 2017 Pure slots in nicely, showing more weight and richness than the winery's basic bottling. Passion fruit, lime and berry notes appear on the nose, while the palate is medium-bodied and the finish long and concentrated, hinting at lime zest and crushed stone. Worth the step up,

Vinous/Antonio Galloni (2017) - 91 pts

Light brilliant pink. Mineral-accented aromas of raspberry and tangerine carry a suave floral topnote. Shows impressive intensity and depth on the palate, offering ripe red berry and cherry flavors and a touch of honeysuckle. Finishes on a chewy note, delivering solid punch, very good tenacity and a lingering floral note.

JancisRobinson.com (2015) - 16 pts

Cork stoppered and white engraved bottle rather than the regular scewcapped bottling. More fragrant and lighter - free-run juice? Satin textured though still with quite high acidity - high-elevation vineyards?

James Suckling (2017) - 92 pts

Vivid and clear aromas of strawberries and flour. Some hot stones, too. Full body, tight and focused fruit and a fresh and clean finish. Tangy and crisp. Drink now.

Decanter (2014) - 90 pts

Fermented and aged in free-standing amphorae this shows admirable complexity for a rosé created from vines just 10 years old. It’s delightfully fragrant, with aromas of violets and blackberries leading on to a juicy, dense but pure-fruited palate with silky tannins and a mineral-flecked finish. This negoce venture was set up by English ex-pat Stephen Cronk with the help of the flying winemaker Jo Ahearne MW. Not just a pretty packaging, this Grenache Syrah and Vermentino blend has a very pretty and fragrant nose of red cherries, grapefruits and spice. Lively and refreshing wine with a complex palate that will complement many dishes.
