Wine tasting notes
The Scavino's straight Barolo originates from small parcels of vines in the Barolo and Castiglione communes. It offers very attractive Nebbiolo scents of tar and roses, whilst the palate is muscular and characteristically Barolo in style, packed with brawny forest berry fruits, with intense dark chocolate and mineral notes.

Master Sommelier Vincent Gasnier, in his book How to Choose Wine, recommends this as a great wine for dishes containing black truffles, as well as for roast pork, among other roast meats. He especially likes it with chicken cacciatore. According to Malcolm Gluck and Mark a great match is braised goose in red wine.
