Wine tasting notes

Shows a delicately flowery and slightly mineral nose. The palate is medium bodied, dry, and with a very good, rounded mouth feel. Elements of minerals, stones, peaches and pears are woven together with balancing, crisp acidity. The finish is lengthy and elegant.

Winery information

Vinnaioli Jermann

The Jermann family have Austro-Hungarian origins, moving from today’s Slovenia to the Friuli Venezia Giulia in northern Italy in the late 19th century. They have a 150 hectare estate with 130 hectares under vine, and 20 dedicated to seeds and horticultural crops. Silvio Jermann is considered one of Friuli’s top winemakers and uses his imaginative flair to make wines in his own style – small quantities of big, fruity and age-worthy wines outside the stricter regulations of the DOC, therefore these wines are IGT. They are also all vegetarian and vegan friendly.

Food matching

Excellent to accompany a light first course and with light foods in general. Immensely drinkable, ideal with seafood bisque and pasta with fagioli (beans).

Vinification notes

Only small volumes are ever made and this enables Jermann to control the quality of each individual parcel by tending it meticulously throughout the year. Yields are kept low in order to increase concentration and are harvested at the optimum ripeness / acidity balance. Through very carefull vinification of the individual parcels Jermann is able to ensure that the maximum amount of elegance and transparency is given space to show itself in the finished wine.
