Wine tasting notes

A beautiful aromatic intensity, with great freshness and aromas of tropical fruits - mango and passion fruit stand out with a slightly herbal background. The nose is complex with citric and mineral notes, accompanied by notes of green chilli and tomato leaves. On the palate, there is a beautiful citric acidity making this a perfect wine for matching with food.

Expert reviews

Wine Advocate/Robert Parker (2016) - 89 pts

Apr 2017 - Luis Gutierrez - The third vintage of their carbonic maceration 2016 DSTNTO was mostly Malbec with 24% Syrah, 12% Cariñena (from Sauzal in Maule) and 6% Petit Verdot. It fermented with indigenous yeasts in neutral, well-seasoned 225- and 400-liter French oak barrels, and as a novelty, they started using some 700-liter clay amphorae from Spain for its fermentation and élevage. Only 50% of the wine went through malolactic fermentation. All this represents a lot of manual work, which is not coherent with the price. It has a restrained nose without the exaggerated aromas carbonic maceration can be responsible for. It's easy to drink and very pleasant.

JancisRobinson.com (2014) - 16 pts

Tasted Feb 2015 - Sweet, gentle nose. Round, friendly and very fruity. Lots more fruit concentration than most French carbonic-maceration wines. Not a complex wine but a very jolly one.

James Suckling (2016) - 93 pts

This is such a cool, handmade wine with such juicy fruit and balance. Medium-to full-bodied, fresh and clean. Whole berry cluster fermentation makes this happen. A blend of malbec, syrah and petit verdot. Drink now.

Tom Cannavan (2015) - 88 pts

A Malbec-based blend, this is a little bit reductive, then the palate delivers juicy fruit, smoky, big dry tannic charcter. Sweet mid-palate fruit and bold and generously juicy.
