Wine tasting notes

Elegant, intense Sémillon from New South Wales, the mouth a riot of lime and lemongrass, offset by the honey, toasty notes that come with age.

Food matching

Ideal with oysters, especially with an Asian dressing, freshcrab, clams & sashimi.

Expert reviews

JancisRobinson.com (2013) - 17 pts

Pale lemon. Nutty and spicy, with toast development. Multi-layered, but still tight and young. Delicate, lime-lemongrass, with nutty, spicy palate character. Creamy, long finish.

James Suckling (2013) - 95 pts

Showing some attractively toasty, aged character with a very elegant and refined, lemon and lime palate. Sleeve-like, glossy texture. Really refined and elegant with length and concentration. A classic Lovedale. Drink or hold.

James Halliday (2013) - 96 pts

As if by alchemy, with age semillon slips into a toasty, butter brioche, lime-marmalade and waxy realm without its acidity wavering. This certainly has freshness and plenty of years ahead of it, but that magical 5-years-before-release-date includes all the other complex stuff.
