Expert reviews

James Suckling (2011) - 90 pts

Very pure and clean with berry, mineral, and hints of new wood. Full and lightly jammy. Very satisfying and outstanding. Purity of fruit impresses. 40% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Franc and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Wine Enthusiast (2011) - 91 pts

Dark garnet in the glass, this blend of 40% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Franc and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of wild raspberry, brambles and geranium leaf. It offers a good balance of tannins and acidity as well as fruit and spice flavors featuring blackberry, black cherry, chocolate, coffee, fennel bulb and black pepper. Mouth-coating tannins do not overpower, but continue well into the bright, lasting finish.

Decanter (2014) - 90 pts

Established in 1857, Ksara has the rather impressive title of Lebanon's oldest operational winery. An interesting nose of bramble fruits, smoked meat and a pleasant green note. Could do with a bite more concentration on the palate but really well put together with refreshing acidity keeping everything in its place.
