Wine tasting notes

The grape variety Verdelho has been grown in Langhorne Creek for over 150 years. It is perfectly suited to our regions climate and growing conditions. We have chosen to make, what we call, a "contemporary" style of Verdelho to express the pure varietal characters. We have used only free run juice providing a clean low phenolic vibrant Verdelho with lifted passionfruit and citrus aromas with subtle floral notes. The palate is juicy and textural with fine acid balance and great length of flavour.

Expert reviews

Wine Advocate/Robert Parker (2012) - 87 pts

Dec 2012 - Lisa Perrotti-Brown - The 2012 Verdelho has an expressive nose of fresh golden delicious apples and pears with touches of dill seed, lemongrass and chalk. Medium-bodied and dry with a good intensity of citrus and exotic spice flavors, it has a refreshing acid line and long clean finish.

James Halliday (2016) - 88 pts

This wine gets straight to the point: a refreshing, drink-now, and crisp white. Flavours of pineapple, fresh fruit salad with basil and lemon saline to finish.

Wine Front (2013) - 88 pts

Fleshy and good in the mouth, with citrus and passionfruit and a silken slip of cream as it waves along your tongue. Power, freshness, delicacy and a bite on the finish – lipsmacking.
