Wine tasting notes

An extraordinary Shiraz from the Eden Valley. Inky red in the glass, the wine has lifted red fruits on the nose as well as darker blackberry and blueberry aromas. A touch of spice from the new French oak lends richness and complexity to the wine. The palate is fresh and persistently fruity throughout its long finish.

Dark purple. Oak-spiced cherry and blackcurrant scents are complemented by deeper notes of anise and vanilla. Conveys very good clarity and lift to its cherry-vanilla and spicecake flavors, with a peppery aspect emerging with aeration. Closes broad and very long, with repeating spiciness, velvety tannins and gentle hints of candied violet and mocha. (2013)16.5 pts

Super-ripe black fruit syrup on the nose. Spiced, sweet, rich and powerful - every inch the Aussie Shiraz. (RH)

There's a savory wrap of spices framed around the blackberry and red plum fruits. The palate's smoothly rendered, long and even. This has plenty of depth. Drink now or hold.

It is the structure, texture and precise finish of this wine that sees you coming back for more. Blackberry, licorice, anise, a touch of tar and dried herbs - the palate sings with a myriad of flavours and fine, savoury tannins driving the length.
