Description

Grown in Chile's Casablanca Valley, the climate in this valley can be described as cool Mediterranean. Its closeness to the ocean tempers its climate and winters tend to be mild. The vineyards are planted on the flatter plains and on the gentle slopes of the Casablanca valley. Generally, the soil is of relatively poor quality with low fertility, and therefore good for growing wine grapes.

No Oak Treatment

Wine tasting notes

This lively little Sauvignon is bursting with vibrant zesty citrus fruit and a hint of exotic guava. Hugely refreshing, this crisp and aromatic wine is endlessly quaffable. Year in year out the quality is consistent and it never disappoints. An award winning wine and its easy to see why.

Winery information

Indomita

Led by Roberto Carranca, the young and dynamic winemaking team at Villa Indomita skilfully craft wines from their great vineyard holdings in two of Chile's very best regions.Villa Indomita benefits from having the best climates for both whites and reds. Whites such as Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay thrive in the cool climate of the Casablanca Valley, the result of the Pacific's icy Humboldt current and early morning fog.Reds such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere flourish in the sandy, fast draining soils of the Maipo Valley. The entry level Costa Vera wines offer some of the best value wine options available and yet it is only a small step up to the next rung of quality with its outstanding Nostros Reserva range from Casablanca. For the more premium ranges of Duette and Zardoz, the Maipo Alto vineyards have proven to be the perfect spot to ripen Cabernet and Carmenere.

Vinification notes

Cold maceration at 10°C for 4 hours then settled and the free run juice is run off and a gentle pressing takes place. Alcoholic fermentation is in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature (13-17°C) to preserve aromas and flavours.
