Light yellow colour with fine, delicate bubbles. A complex nose mixing different fruits such as quince, peach and grapefruit lead to a fresh finish with a delicate and refined mouth-feel.

Winery Information

Founded in the heart of the Loire Valley in 1885, Langlois-Chateau specialises in elegant sparkling wines produced under the Crémant de Loire appellation. The Bollinger family recognised the quality of the wines in 1973, acquiring majority ownership, and have significantly added to the estate's vineyards in Saumur, Saumur-Champigny and Sancerre to cultivate fine expressions of Loire Valley varietals with excellence and tradition. July 2015 - Fragrant, juicy and ripe - apple, redcurrant, rose petals and a toasted character on the nose. Classic, savoury and with good smoky length. (RH)

A soft and friendly sparkler, with ginger, apple and brioche notes. Easy finish. Drink now.

A blend of Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay, this is a round, mouthfilling sparkling wine with ripe apple flavors layered with grapefruit acidity and a tight, final texture that is crisp and mineral.

Decanter (NV)4 pts

Fresh orchard-fruit aromas burst from the glass of this easy-drinking Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay blend. In the mouth it is honeyed and balanced with an Old World feel. A good-value winter party fizz from a Bollinger owned estate.( 16.5pts)

Fresh and crisp on the nose; toasty and dry on the palate. Terrific mouth-watering acidity meets creamy, rich texture. The finish is dry and refreshing. Terrific, especially for this price! Try with seafood. this lovely bubbly is made from three grapes: Chenin, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc selected form the best terroirs of the Samur region. It is aged for a minimum of 2 years in the truffeau (chalk rock) cellars. Crémant De Loire food pairings: sashimi, Thai coconut shrimp, pasta with cheese-based sauce, caviar, shellfish, tempura, grilled fish.

Vinification Notes

The grapes used to make Crémant de Loire brut come from 6 quality terroirs: Côtes de Saumur, Coteaux de St Léger, Puy Notre Dame, Bas Layon, Haut Layon and Montreuil Bellay all of which have predominantly chalky soils. The grapes are entirely hand-picked in small 25kg crates and a pneumatic press is used immediately after gathering (160kg of grapes gives 100l of juice) . During vinification grape varieties and terroir are seperated in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks and it is the taste of the clear, unblended wines which determines the final mix (the best vintages using around 10% of reserve wines). The second fermentation is drawn in the bottle and the wine is matured on the lees for a minimum of 24 months in the wineries freestone cellars.
