Beautiful pale pink colour with salmon highlights. A delicately scented nose, combining sweet strawberry and raspberry fruits along with floral nuances of roses and orange blossom. The red fruits follow through to the silky palate enlivened by hints of citrus zest, finishing with just a hint of fresh mint.
The Le Versant range is produced by Les Vignobles Foncalieu. They are a union of cooperatives, founded in 1967 and located in the heart of the Languedoc region of southern France, with 4,000 hectares of vineyards spread between the Pyrénées and the Mediterranean, tended by 650 growers. Made from 100% Grenache grown on north-facing slopes near Ensérune in the Herault department of Languedoc-Roussillon on clay limestone soils. The grapes are lightly pressed, then stabilized on the deposits for 5-7 days, followed by cold static clarification for 48 hours. Fermentation in stainless steel, with a further 3 months ageing in stainless steel. Batonnage (lees stirring) was used to round out the finished wine.
