Wine tasting notes

Golden yellow in colour with glimmers of copper. The nose has pronounced aromas of ripe apples and pears with a whiff of broom. In the mouth, a citrus-apple fruitness plays off a crisp acidity that lingers on the palate.

Hints of pineapple and kiwi accent flavors of poached pear, slivered almond and spice in this creamy and balanced white, which is light- to medium-bodied and fresh, with firm finish and lingering minerality. Drink now through 2021

James Suckling (2015)91 pts

Aromas of hot stones, cement and pears follow through to a medium body, bright acidity and a delicious finish. I like the flint and aniseed undertones to this. Drink now.

Wine Enthusiast (2014)88 pts

Delicate scents of spring blossom and white peach float from the glass while the elegant, refreshing palate offers mature apple, white almond and orange zest. Energizing mineral and firm acidity drive the finish.

Vinification Notes

After destemming, the juice and pulp underwent cold maceration at controlled temperatures, followed by a gentle pressing to separate the grapes from the skins. Approximately 15% of the must fermented in oak barrels and 85% fermented in stainless steel vats. Aging: The wine aged on the lees for eight months and then in the bottle.
