Product Notes

Pegasus Bay Sauvignon Semillon captures the essence of Canterbury's terroir with its impeccable harmony of crisp minerals and lush tropical nuances. This elegant white blend parades pronounced flavours of gooseberry, grapefruit and passionfruit, with subtle traces of guava and kumquat. Delicate notes of nettles and bell pepper provide an interesting counterbalance. Meticulously aged, this wine exhibits a buttery texture, underscored by subtle oak and a delightful flinty finish. An embodiment of New Zealand's viticultural finesse, Pegasus Bay Sauvignon Semillon adds a touch of sophistication to romantic dinners and special occasions.

Tasting Notes

The colour is pale lemon with aromas of citrus blossom, lemon, gooseberry and passionfruit. There is also a hint of struck match complexity arising from skin contact during fermentation. The Semillon component helps fill out the palate, adding fruit weight, richness and age-ability, while also acting to restrain the exuberance of the sauvignon blanc. While the lees contact has added texture and body, the wine remains focussed, with a crisp refreshing acidity that emphasises its mineral notes.
