Good depth of youthful ruby red colour. Fresh perfumes of ripe black cherries and a touch of spice giving way to a nicely structured palate, rounded tannins and a smooth but fresh finish. Attractive spiced, dark cherry character on the palate is given more depth by a savoury, smoky edge.
The grapes were hand harvested, de-stemmed and crushed and pumped to stainless steel tanks purpose built for fermenting red wine. The wine was pumped over automatically every hour in the early stages to obtain the right amount of colour and ripe tannins. Fermentation took place at up to 30°C and the wine remained in tank until bottling to maximise freshness and its juicy, youthful character.
