Ponte del Diavolo

Ponte del Diavolo means “The Bridge of the Devil” in Italian, and the brand is named after an astonishing medieval stone bridge, which spans the Natisone River near the town of Cividale in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The legend goes that the people of Cividale asked the Devil for help to build a bridge across the river, and in return he asked them for the soul of the first creature to pass over the bridge. The Devil constructed the bridge in a single night, but the cunning townsfolk sent an animal over it in the morning (versions of the story vary as to which type of animal it was), and the Devil had to be content with the soul of an animal and left the town in peace. The fruit for the Ponte del Diavolo wines comes from Grave del Friuli, a large area between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea. This extremely quaffable range is full of bright flavours and represents unbeatable value for money!
