Jan 2015 - Mark Squires - The 2012 Post Scriptum de Chryseia is principally a Touriga Nacional / Touriga Franca blend, with tiny quantities of other grapes, aged for 13 months 400-liter French oak. It is a fresh and elegant PS this year. Not overly concentrated, it does have beautiful, lifted fruit and an enticing fresh feel to it. In its own subtle way, this focused and very appealing PS should be a complete charmer. If it evolves well, it may yet be entitled to an uptick, but it won't disappoint at its typically nice price. Feb 2015 - Very dry year with difficult flowering conditions. This was fortunate – if it had been a big vintage the vines wouldn’t have withstood the drought. Prats sees 2012 more as a Bordeaux-style vintage. Deep blueish crimson still. Very savoury, elegant nose. Polish and charm on the palate as well as great freshness. Perfumed and almost Margaux-like! Bone dry and rather refined.

Web Only 2016 - This is filled with bright red berry and cherry tart flavors that feature notes of cedar and spice. Hints of phyllo pastry on the firm finish, with medium-grained tannins. Drink now through 2018

This wine is stylish, with layers of wood, black currant notes and a structure that will allow the juicy fruitiness to develop relatively quickly. It's balanced, with fruit, texture and acidity all coming together. Drink from 2016.

Vinification Notes

Manual triage is undertaken on a sorting table after which the grapes are de- stemmed before passing through a second berry-by -berry mechanical selection, prior to being gently crushed. The grapes are then relayed to the fermentation vats, and once in the vats they are inoculated with a specially selected yeast culture and fermentation takes place around 25ºC. Maceration is very gentle and adjusted in such a way as to produce a wine intended for earlier drinking, nevertheless, with a great ability to mature in bottle. .
